Office of the Chief Welfare Fund Inspector


The Office of the Chief Welfare Fund Inspector of the Kerala Abkari Workers’ Welfare Fund Board is functioning on the first floor of the KCP Building, located at Aryasala, Thiruvananthapuram. Under the administrative control of the Office of the Chief Welfare Fund Inspector, three regional offices are functioning at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode.

The functions carried out in this office include scrutinizing membership applications received from the various regional offices and submitting them before the Board for further action; examining benefit applications submitted with the recommendations of Welfare Fund Inspectors and sanctioning the eligible amounts to the accounts of the concerned workers; disbursing monthly pension to retired workers; and appointing staff required for the effective functioning of the Board.

Thiruvananthapuram Regional Office


The districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha fall under the jurisdiction of the Thiruvananthapuram Regional Office. Registration of Abkari workers in the Welfare Fund, disbursement of welfare fund benefits, issuing loans for medical treatment / house construction / higher education of workers’ children, and granting advance amounts for the marriage of female workers or workers’ daughters are carried out.

Retirement benefits such as PF, Gratuity, Pension, and Family Pension, as well as welfare scheme benefits including medical financial assistance, critical illness assistance, marriage assistance, maternity assistance, ex-gratia, funeral assistance, and scholarships for workers’ children are also provided.

Applications submitted by workers or the dependents of deceased workers for these benefits are received at the office, verified, and the eligible cases are recommended and forwarded to the Chief Welfare Fund Inspector. Preparation of assessment orders, preparation of annual credit slips, and issuing clearance certificates to employers are among the duties carried out at the office level.

Ernakulam Regional Office


The districts of Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur come under the jurisdiction of the Ernakulam Regional Office.
